COUNTRY STRATEGY 2009-11

The country strategic plan (CSP) developed as an attempt to draw the road-map and set the directions and milestones for IR Pakistan office during the coming three years. The strategy laid its foundation on three major cornerstones, they are:

  1. Reinforce the collective commitment to meet IRW global Vision, Mission & Core Values
  2. Indicate what we can do better as IR in Pakistan to have greater impact within our operations
  3. Enhance the positioning of IR in Pakistan as a key humanitarian aid actor in the country

To achieve this goal there are seven strategic objectives set for the programme and two strategic aims for the organization to adjust itself internally to meet the programmatic aims.

Strategic Objective 1: Promote an integrated program package to increase impact of our poverty reduction actions.
Strategic Objective 2: Improve communities’ sustainable access to essential social services.
Strategic Objective 3: Enhancement to household Livelihoods.
Strategic Objective 4: Vulnerable people do sustain their livelihoods requirements at times of calamities and disasters.
Strategic Objective 5: Children well-being is placed at the centre of our actions.
Strategic Direction 6: Meet our requirements, through diversification of sufficient financial resources
Strategic Direction 7: Enhancing the capability of the organization effectiveness and efficiency in realization of its objectives

The current strategic plan is the instrument through which we will be able to achieve the global vision, mission and core values of the organization. By working towards achieving the strategic aims and objectives there is no doubt a consolidated impact will be reached at the ground level and that is the ultimate goal of the organization in Pakistan.

Taking strategic aims further, paradigm shift has taken place in Islamic Relief programming. The programme is now based on child centered approach with greater emphasis on child protection and development. Supporting this, community development will largely be taken from the projects while child well being is central to our interventions.
