The British High Commissioner to Pakistan hosted a reception to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Islamic Relief:
This year Islamic Relief is commemorating its 25th anniversary with the communities, donor agencies and partners that it works with globally to celebrate its vital services to humanity since the establishment of the organisation.
During the span of seventeen years Islamic Relief Pakistan has been able to facilitate around 5.6 million individuals including 4.2 million during emergencies and 1.3 million through development programmes with the investment of approximately £58.85 million altogether.
The British High Commissioner hosted a reception at His Excellency's residence on the 18th November 2009 to mark the 25 years of Islamic Relief globally. Reception was attended by the ambassadors, high commissioners, senior diplomats, senior government officials, heads of the UN agencies, heads of INGOs and representatives of national and local organisations. The event was also part of celebrating 17th Years of Islamic Relief services in Pakistan. The Foreign & Commonwealth Office of the UK is taking part in these celebrations in countries where Islamic Relief is having its offices.
