Development Programmes
Islamic Relief started working in Pakistan in 1992 and was registered in 1994 as a Company Limited by Guarantee under Section 42 of the Companies Ordinance, 1984. Since its inception the office has successfully implemented many relief and development projects in the sectors of Water & Sanitation, Health, Education, Income Generation, Disaster Preparedness & Response and Orphans support in Pakistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJ&K).

Background
The area of Forward Kahuta in Tehsil Havali, District Bagh is one of the poorest areas in AJ&K. Islamic Relief started work in this area in the sector of water and sanitation towards the end of 2002. However soon it became apparent that we would also have to respond to some of the other major needs of the area e.g. livelihoods and education. Taking this into consideration Islamic Relief has started work in sustainable livelihoods and has also expanded its operation to Tehsils Dhirkot and Bagh
