Establishment of Mercy centre is in progress in village Surkh Dheray and will be completed by Monday 25th May 2009. A compound with a boundary wall is rented to be utilised for the Mercy centre activities. |

Survey on water & sanitation conditions in union council Rustam of Distrcit Mardan is ongoing. This will help in identifying the gaps and the need for water & sanitation for the IDPs and the host communities. |

As a result of follow up with health department, IR is asked to submit a formal request in order to process it and allow IR to setup Mercy centres and also conduct its health related activities at basic health centres in union councils Rustam and Chahar Gulli. |

Five more locations identified for the Mercy centres in Mardan district with these the total locations so far identified in Rustam and Chahar Gulli are 11. |

According to the government over 1.2 million IDPs have been registered both at the camps and off the camps. |

As per the government there is not enough space at the camps for any further IDPs to be accommodated and therefore, they are going to allocate four new locations for setting up IDPs camps which will be announced tomorrow. |

Tents that have been distributed are winteriesed which is causing difficulties for the IDPs to stay in the tent during the day time as the temperature is nearly 40+ during the day time. The IDPs are coming from an area where the temperature is mild and therefore finding it very difficult to deal with the hot temperatures while in the tent. |
