Weaving Awareness on Health and Hygiene (WASH)

Due to the low socioeconomic status and very low literacy, the mothers of the children are unaware about the safe water storage, domestic and personal hygiene and waste disposal practices. These areas have very poor civic amenities available.

Educating the sponsored orphan families on safe water storage good personal and domestic hygiene practices can fairly reduce the incidence of the waterborne diseases among children and their caregivers. This would be achieved through small group sessions linked with hygiene kits. Each group would undergo two to three refresher sessions to make sure that the message has been not only received well but the families have started practicing what have learnt.
