2001 in order to reduce the
vulnerability of people living in one of
the poorest areas in AJ&K, which is
also, prone to disaster. NVIDP is being
implemented through broad-based
participatory community organisations
and comprises of the following

Neelum Valley
is one of the worst affected
areas from firing along the line
of control (LoC). The civilian
population has been suffering
tremendous hardships as a result
of LoC firing.
Islamic Relief started its work
in Neelum Valley in 1998 through
distribution of relief items to
the people affected by firing.
Being a disaster prone area
there was a dire need to work on
preparedness
To reduce the vulnerability of
the population affected by LoC
firing through improved
preparedness.
